The Canton Museum of Arts will open a new Civil War exhibit Friday in a free event that includes a parade of soldier and cavalry re-enactors.The 6th Ohio Volunteer Cavalry will march from the museum, 1001 Market Ave. N., to an encampment on the Kresge Green in downtown Canton.Beforehand, visitors may tour A Nation Divided: The Heartland Responds, an exhibit focused on images from Feel the Bonds that Draw by Christine Dee, featuring photos from the Western Reserve Historical Society’s Civil War collection.“We found 3D objects related to the pictures to supplement them,” curator Lynnda Arrasmith said, including a Civil War cannon, uniforms, costumes and other war memorabilia. The rest of the month, admission is $6, $4 for seniors and college students, and free to children 12 and under.The museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.. It is closed Mondays.
